I must say this new tool is pretty sweet, but it is unable to lay more than one sprite on the icon.
If Barubary has time, maybe he can fix this issue?
I was wondering about this too. I haven't really had an issue with it (the one time I needed it I just put them together into a single image anyway), but it would be nice to see this feature.
Since we're talking about it, more zoom and opacity options would be handy too (maybe sliders or numeric steppers), since they're quite restricted at the moment.

I think x2 zoom is plenty for almost everything (you want it to stay at even increments after all), but a custom opacity can be set via the Transparency > Opacity > Custom option (I haven't used it myself though).
but I agree about being able to overlay more than one image before placing it, because I often make quirky icons where I use more than one sprite and it can be a hassle trying to figure how to place them without being able to make adjustments.
he has not been on TSR in a long time for being busy but I could try to PM him sometime I guess since I asked him to make V3B.
I'm confused; there is a Place Image option that allows you to paste a second sprite onto the icon... I'm not sure what you're saying should be done?

"Place Image" is not really an understandable description, but now I see that it allows me place multiple characters on an icon.
Still, it's a little bit annoying to click on Place Image for every character. Same for Transparency-Topleftpixel every time you start the icon maker.
I thought what he was saying was, being able to paste an image onto the icon, and be able to paste another without the other disppearing, and being able to edit them both without having them finalized (aka "placing" the image). pretty much what he said above.

I assume you do not have Java installed on it. The program requires java to be able to run.

So... could this be updated with the new big icons?
In addition to that, might be handy to add the new Sounds Resource game icons too.

We will ask Barubary when he is available.
I've updated the first post temporarily to make it a bit neater. Hopefully this helps!

I'm using Paint.net to do this, but I can't find the text font.
Can you please send me an image of it?

You can just use the text tool. The font is Verdana (I'm pretty sure most computers have it, if not download it), size 7, and the colour should be #E8E8E8. It says this on the first post, by the way
I would really recommend using this tool though. It makes sure the text is properly aligned and everything, and makes consistency much easier as it's less prone to human error. The only real reason to make them by hand would be if you want to make some really fancy icons, but even then I would use the Icon Maker to create the border.
