you know said last answer is the reason you're seen as a distinguished gentleman, since its basically what everyone else has been telling you for the last three pages but you refused to consider since they were rather hard criticism w/o a sing of aproval?
if you're looking for feedback, i believe i already gave you feedback, in wich the solution is quite evident(and when its not actually "written" its just because one avoids to be redundant). this is not a game, since the fun factor is not present on it.there is no entertainment and i am sure you know that entertaiment is not the intention behind this. games are interactive, but so are telephones, yet the second is not meant to entertain yet to be functional, to deliver a service. it comes to my mind this game called passage. it uses a game mechanics but both the interaction and the aesthetics are used to actually generate a mood and deliver a message to the viewer. in your case, you're using "happy mario graphics"(they hare) and you're trying to generate a gloomy, opresive mood background. the contrast just doesnt work.(not a call for the bad graphics, just for the type of graphics used in general). as i said, nothing to be proud, but at the same time, much to learn and to prevent in any future project.

jesus christ how you handle all of this is unbelievable mechabowser, bravo
As for the game, I don't see what a good majority of the complaints are for. While the Bowser fight is... difficult, I never had any trouble with collision detection on the fireballs, you either jump over them or let them pass over you, it's not that hard. The only collision issue I ever met was with the first ? block, which you can sort of jump through. I guess it makes sense that people are a little weirded out by it, after all, it's pretty trippy, but some of the replies in this topic are just really rude to say the least

I would love to see you use the same style in a good fangame, I hope you do! That'll be dang brilliant!(06-11-2009, 01:30 PM)ChaosBlazeX Wrote: Hey MechaBowser, I just finished the game, and can I ask; was the background and whatnot inspired by the game Braid at all? xDHeavily!

Despite popular belief, MFGG isn't a secret conspiracy and are best friends forever just because we go on the same board. I have nothing against Rob or Glukom, but they're fellow tSR members just like you. Why are their opinions not valid? But this game is in simple terms, equal to SMB. Why is it not a game? And why does it bother you so much? There's a reason I made the foreground. Accept it? Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's a 'bug' or 'glitch' in the game. It's one of the first things I made for the game, and it's come to stay. Here, I'm going more in-depth.
My initial reaction to the almost trippy effects was "oh hell this is going to lag." And it did, twice. Once when there were many objects on the screen and again while fighitng Bowser and the goombas came too fast while I had another program running something. The second lagging was my fault, but the first time Luigi almost fell in a pit with just the game running. It was pretty quick to GET to Bowser, but it was way too tedious to beat him. I also thought it was nice of you to make it obvious that you use the goombas to defeat Bowser. Once I got to the stage of Bowser before he [spoilers]becomes Mario[/spoilers] I had trouble recognizing where he was. I died multiple times from mis-aiming my jump on that stage of the steam. Obviously the fire balls were the main cause for the difficulty, and you should have probably made it more obvious where their hitbox was or be able to duck; I died twice when the fire was above Luigi's head and I was standing still. The sprites suck, the music is awesome, the effects and background are good, the execution is okay.

I certainly don't know how i should give feedback to this since everything seems to be futile or aggresive to a point it has to be answered and segmented to reply and excuse every point.

It never lagged for me, but could be a difference in hardware that makes this change. If you don't want to share anything then there's not much point of you posting in here.

I actually did have some lag, too, but only in the parts with the grass. It didn't really affect the gameplay for me, though.

Christ this thread has become retarded.
Everyone (including myself) is bitching about an intentionally terrible game that's not going to be fixed; in opposition to someone who is being stubbornly disagreeable for the irrational reason that we don't sugarcoat our criticism. Everyone go outside for a while - you'll feel better. |
