I remembered playing the demo disc and thinking this game was cool. I unfortunately bought it, only to find that it's terrible. I'm sort of hoping it's just the PS2 version and that the xbox one was actually good (just so my memory of it is correct :p) but oh man the ps2 one is awful.
You intrigued me, good sir, so I decided to give it a quick run, and once I was through the tutorial (oh god I hate those things) I was having a bunch of a lot of fun. Art style is retarded, but I love my 3D platformers.
I guess the Xbox version was the good one, then? I assume so.
I vaguely remember hearing that one was good while the other wasn't so maybe the xbox one was the good one.
also PnT has NESes for lime $30 and a game gear for $15
which should I get

Just finished up Jade Empire.
Best. Credits. Ever. "You could punch a mountain... into space!"
Might as well start on Fable, then. Those children won't murder themselves, after all!
And, uh, in my basement I found an NES and a copy of Crystalis. What to do, what to do...

Uh, it didn't? Ninja Gaiden 2 took Black and Sigma and expanded upon them in every conceivable manner so I don't know what you're talking about.
Been playing a lot of Max Payne and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia.

Expanded it in every manner? I think not. The story was worse than ever (but that's not important as no one cares about the story) but it felt exactly the same as the first game, not to mention that the camera was still a pain in the ass. In fact in places the camera seemed worse than the first game. Now when you compare the first NES one it's sequel the improvements are obvious.
As for Fable, I just don't get that game. Like Oblivion the combat sucks ass but no one seems to care as long as you can collect a lot of crap...
I think tomorrow I'm going rent Bionic Commando or Infamous, not sure on which yet...

No! Prototype is where the fun is at. Trust me on this one.

From everything I've seen and read of Prototype it looks really bad and poorly done.
From where, review websites?
Because I've heard from EVERYBODY that played it that it's great.

Most I read (can't be bothered to look them up) complained about the poor animation (which is highly present in the videos) and basically ended up saying "it's not as good as Infamous"
And most people I know who have it just say it's "alright." And well people said MadWorld on the Wii was great when it was just "alright." Infamous however seems to be highly recommended by everyone I know who has a PS3 and I want to at least play the new Bionic Commando after enjoying Rearmed so much.

You might as well play the two arcade ones, just so you can say you've played them all.

"professional game reviewers" get paid to blow through their assigned game as quickly as possible so their website can be the first to throw up their wrong opinion. prototype is one of those games you aren't supposed to blow through, it's a game where you consume and wear the skin of an old lady and piledrive soldiers off of the chrysler building
edit: it's also important to remember that graphics aren't important, gameplay is.
