What are you playing?

Once you get better at the "snaking" technique, you can pretty much dig trenches around them and catch up to last place before the race is even over, just like with any other Mario Kart game. =P

I'm surprised anyone would find the D-Pad difficult to race with on MKDS. Personally, I found the controls more than smooth enough to compensate for the lack of analog sensitivity. Then again, I've been playing Mario Kart since the SNES, and drove right through Gran Turismo most of the time with only the D-Pad, so it could just be me. Tongue

I never said the D-Pad was bad for racing. Look over my post again: I said it's difficult to powerslide with the D-Pad. Well, not actually "difficult", but I mean the CPU doesn't have to awkwardly wiggle its thumb left and right as quickly as possible so that it both gets a boost and doesn't skew off track.
That's all, really. Personally I prefer playing racing games (and most other games, too) with a D-Pad than with an analogue stick.

I prefer the Stick, really, but D-pads are cool~

And now my interest has already switched over to the Marathon trilogy. 4th gen platformers are so short that I flip-flop between favorites real fast. xD Would be playing Pokemon Black again, but meh, I don't feel like beating the Elite Four, even if I am that freaking close to getting Reshiram. Very Sad

Oh, I apologize for misreading. :# It is a little awkward to power slide because of that sometimes, I will admit. (And when I get rusty, I miss every other boost opportunity for the first two laps before getting my groove back. xD)

Same here with the control preferences. It's funny that I prefer having absolute control in 3D platformers with an analog stick, but on racing or fighting games, I won't have it any other way than precisely tapping that d-pad like a madman. =P

I've been playing WarioWare Touched! during my "vacation". Actually, I played it from start to end. I haven't completely finished it, i.e. I haven't "passed" every microgame and I think there are still a few Toys to get, but I've finished every character, including the three mixes.

In addition, I beat Clay, the fifth Gym Leader in Pokemon Black, and finished World 7 in New Super Mario Bros, which means I've now completed all the worlds. I'll probably get round to doing the secret levels later, and also trying to get all the Star Coins.
Mario Kart is still hell. I still can't beat the Star Cup at 150cc, although I finally got a D with Waluigi, instead of an E which I previously kept on getting. I haven't really played much though, so I'll give it another shot soon.

Other than that I've just been doing some Professor Layton weekly puzzles. Obviously I haven't been able to play TF2, but I'll be getting back to that again soon, along with Crysis Tongue

(By the way, why the deficiency of posts?)

Robotrek. I never played it in its heyday, but I'm giving it a shot, but for a beginner's RPG it's pretty cryptic in what your next step is most of the time.

After using this site for about 5 years and then registering and being a member on the forums, I just noticed many sprites/models/textures/sounds were on this site (that was a mouth full :p). I thought it would be interesting to know what you guys play during your free time. So I wanted to ask you a question, what are you playing?

When ever I turn on my PC, I never shut it off without playing my current favorite game, Sonic Generations. Even if I have barely 5 minutes to play it, I do a real quick speed run. I also enjoy playing Prototype, not only for that dominant feeling, but for the joy of slashing Alex Mercer's blade through a Blackwatch commander.Tongue

Don't we already have one of these in the Gaming Discussion section? It's died out, but does it still count?

Anyway, I've recently been playing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, hence the avatar. Other than that it's just the usual: TF2, Mario Kart (trying to scrape past the Banana Cup), and I've also been trying to "pass" microgames on WarioWare: Twisted!
Oh, and I finally finished the "get 10,000,000 Wealth" quest on London Life. Now I'll just try and get 1,000,000 Happiness.

Reminds me of how I dislike NoE.
Dudes, stop fooling around and hire some localisation staff. Or at least leave it untranslated, I don't have a problem there. But cutting it out?
Thanked by:
I know, right? Honestly, I don't even get the point of any localization differences in any games, including the other few PL games. The only differences should be spelling (and any country-specific sentences, e.g. the floor system explanation in London Life). Even voices shouldn't be different, let alone entire titles and features.
