I'm glad you feel that way, most gamers these days think motion control is evil and gimmicky.

Actually controlling an Arwing with the Wii Remote like an aircraft joystick seems like a neat idea.

I may not be for motion control when it feels tacked-on needlessly and cannot be swapped for a normal controller that would seem far more practical, but when it works for the benefit of the experience (Metroid Prime 3) I'm for it.

FPS titles on the Wii need an option to not use motion control. I'm always fighting with the remote to keep my crosshair level.

We also need a sequel to Kingpin: Life of Crime. Maybe now that Interplay's up and running again we may see one.

well aren't you superstitious
Wii's motion controls are decent at best, but most of games that use it are badly implemented. Like mario kart wii for example, it's nearly impossible to hop using the wii wheel, it's much better on the classic controller.

Hm I'm not for that one. I like a more leisure Smash game. It adds more surprises in the game.

You see when a game focuses on certain complex techniques everyone is bound to use them. that means everyone who plays as Link will try to do the same thing, everyone who plays as Fox will do the same thing. There will be no variety. With a less complex game, the techniques are more fluid. Someone who plays as Link may not play the same as another because the complex techniques are not present.

You have that backwards. A less complicated system basically means there's less a character is capable of doing in a given situation - making them easier to play, but kills any variety in the play of said character; and arguably between characters.

Games like Guilty Gear are good because they give you SO MANY mechanics options. You don't need to be able to Roman Cancel, or Burst, or even use Tension to be good at the game, but the inclusion of those things allows for more options in any given situation - meaning my Jam play will be different from Kosheh's or Tyvon's.

Not from what I've seen in Smash Bros.

In Melee everyone who was Ice Climbers did nothing but chain grab, everyone who was Fox did nothing but... what did they call it? "Shining"?

Those are considered "advanced techniques" yes? Well those who master such techniques use only those and don't try to do something new. Basically if you were up against a Fox player you'd know exactly what to expect from them.

However without those advanced techniques you may not know how the player might use Fox. I don't know about other games but that's how it was in Smash Bros.

It was like "He who can wave dash wins" same goes for Snaking in Mario Kart DS.
