We're spending our precious time trying to help you, but it's pretty obvious now that you don't want the help. While that is somewhat understandable, at least understand that what you consider high quality differs from what we see.

I'm definitely not the only person who suggested AAing. So at least try it and stop being so goddamn defensive.
Please read all my comments first. It's not so much that I'm trying to be defensive, I just don't like using anti-aliasing, it's more of a habit from spriting where you can't use enough shades to make it effective. I'm willing to give it a shot, although at the moment I'm not in the mood to be working on these.
My only problem is the couple people who have come into this thread acting like they know everything about art and I know nothing. Please don't take this as bragging, but I was considered one of the best spriters back on the Nintendo NSider forums (specifically on the Pokémon boards), I was rated as one of the best hosts of NSider's Official Pokémon Spriting Contest, and I'm still considered one of the best spriters and pixel artists on Knite's Squire forums.I may not be a master a spriting and pixel art, but I'm definately not new to the art form.
Those of you who have offered honest efforts to help me improve my art, even if I don't agree with what you suggested, I appreciate the fact that you took the time to offer your opinion.

Heh, I never thought I'd find you here in tSR waging war against everyone. Here's my comments.

Well, for one, you have endless possibilities for making a cool shading style better than the flat one you have now. You say you don't like some of the crits, but without trying them, you won't be getting anywhere.
I gave it a try, taking from the crits given here.
Believe me when I say this, most of the members here have been at this for years now, and they actually know what they're saying. It's not a good idea to go defensive on everything hurled off at you just because you don't like it.

Heh... while the style works for you, I see what you did to my art and it feels to me like you ruined it. When I made it, it wasn't meant to have that much dimension to it. It's not supposed to have a completely 3D-ish look, which is why I didn't give it the level of shading you guys are telling me to do. I like the simple shading style, just one bright and one dark shade, occasionally a shine or a deep shadow, but only where the design demands it.
More than that, if you knew people here would be this critical of my work, why didn't you say anything back on KS when everyone else was telling me I should put it up for submission here? You didn't even post a comment on it back on the other site.

Your too lazy to listen to our advice. Your just talking yourself out of actually putting some effort into making your pixels better. Your lineart could be smoother, along with your shading. Your colors need more contrast, and they look to saturated. You should appreciate what we are giving you to make your work better. Now you just need to at least listen to it.

Try not defending against EVERY bit of constructive criticism that we have to offer. This is a pixel art forum, and while you claim to not be new to pixel art (which is believable), you're certainly new to forums that have anything to do with it.
So...I already know that you're not going to listen to more than half the things we say, but at least be grateful for we are making an effort to help you improve your work. I'd start by at least thanking smash. >.>
And one last thing. Serious question now: Do you want us to help you?

He obviously doesn't but it's no matter. Just as long as he realises it's not going to be accepted without improvements.
Specs 'n' Headphones has been revamped! Check it, yo.

the general vibe I'm getting from this is NO THE STYLE IS SUPPOSED TO LOOK FLAT AND BORING AND CHANGING THE SHADING WILL RUIN IT
which isn't good

CCH, I understand you might have been among the best at the Nsider Forums, but these forums are almost completely dedicated to sprites and pixel art. You're in a whole different league, as it were. The standards are higher, and the critique might be harsher, but sometimes the best medicine can be bitter tasting. Remember that, and you'll probably be better off.
Now, from my standpoint, your pixel art isn't necessarily bad, but like some people have said, there are ways you can improve it. I'm not really sure why Umbreon doesn't have a mouth, and there are various parts in the linearts that are jagged and slightly misshapen. I know you said you like your pixel art to be crisp, but there's a difference between being crisp and being jagged. Circled in red are jagged/misshapen parts I noticed.
There are definitely other things you could improve/fix on the sprites that I can't specifically point out, myself, but other people can probably tell you what those are.
Secondly, just because there are worse pieces of spritework hosted on the site doesn't change the fact that yours needs work. Low-quality sprites and pixel art are an ongoing problem that the site is dealing with. Even disregarding the low quality stuff, why wouldn't you want to improve your artwork if it's been made apparent that there are aspects of it that can be made better? Saying "I think it's as good as it's going to get" is just being lazy. You made these to be used by other people, so if anything, other people's critiques of your artwork should be pretty important to you. If someone points out a flaw, it doesn't go away just because you don't think it matters. It's there until you fix it, and people will keep noticing it's there, until you fix it.
Yeah. I agree with everyone else.
you know that opinions ARE certainly truth if a lot of people agrees on something.

Just take the critism if you want them on the sit though. >:c
If it's traced and there's nothing special about it, who would look at it when they can look at the original?

Of all the posts here, yours is the only one who did what I was asking for.
Guys, just because I don't do my pixel art in the same style you guys do doesn't mean it's wrong. Everyone has their own style, I prefer to keep my work simple.
I agree that the spots you marked needed work. Since I didn't want to use any AA effects, it was difficult for me to get those lines to flow the way I wanted them to. Those are points I wanted to work on, but couldn't figure out a way to improve it without using anti-aliasing.
Please understand guys, while AA might be useful in pixel art, my goal was to create a smooth and crisp look that used pure pixels rather than trying to blend them together. What I ask is that when I come in here and look for comments that you respect the style I was looking for and help me to improve on that specific style.
Instead, most of you pretty much are telling me every aspect of my art is wrong. You tell me the shading isn't contrasted enough. You tell me there's not enough shades. You tell me it needs anti-aliasing. You tell me the outlines are jagged and rough. These are not what I'm looking for.
I chose to use this style for a reason and all you guys are basically telling me is that I should just scrap all of these and do it over with an entirely different style. While you guys might think it was just a simple trace, I put a fair bit of effort into these and I don't want to have to change them just because you don't agree with my style.
At this point, I'm not even sure I want them on tSR at all. If no one is going to appreciate my work, what's the point? At least on Knite's Squire, people cared about the work I put into these and didn't immediately start picking out every little thing they didn't like. I don't mind criticism, but when you guys take it to a level of insulting my skill and telling me my work is basically worthless, it's kinda hard to value your opinion at all.
Sol, as you were the only one here to give me any useful tips for improving my work without telling me to do the whole thing over, I will try to work on those parts.
As for this thread, I'd prefer if it were locked or deleted. I'm not interested in hearing all the comments about me getting overly defensive just because I don't want to change the style of my artwork.
