SSBB main Menu Rips (Re-Ripped)
#1
These are sprites of the main menu of SSBB. There are a total of 6 buttons, they are: Single, Group, Nintendo Wi-Fi, Vault, and Options. Update: Re-Ripped with a different tool to look a bit better.

Thanks!
NOTE: sorry about the vault, options, data buttons. They came all JPEG'd up and I tried my best to fix them.

Are these ripped from screenshots or ripped from the game?

I smell photoshopped screenshots.

I actually have a really bad ripper... That's all, but I tried photoshop to edit out JPEGing, but on some of them I messed it up... Sorry...

Is the ripper bad or are you even using a program that supports transparency? I'm just asking because its a common mistake for a novice ripper. If you just used MS Paint to assemble this then you might want to try a program like GIMP or Paint.net instead.

If I'm wrong about that then you could also try using a different ripper since there is a good variety of tools now to extract and even replace graphics from that game now. If you have any questions about that or need help finding a good ripper then PM me and I'll try to help. Smile

I'm almost 100% certain the menu textures aren't that small.
Specs 'n' Headphones has been revamped! Check it, yo.

Brawl has a really weird manner for storing the main menu's textures -- they're all alpha channels with colors rendered in-game. For example, here's the wrench for the Options icon, straight from my Brawl disc:

So these had to have been ripped from a screenshot.

I actually put them all together, and to GrooveMan.exe, I have a bad ripper, so I had to take a screenshot from that, which puts them all into a smaller size to not use much memory... I really need a new one...

Well, I would like a better ripper, so if you could help with that, it'd be great. Second, I use Paint.Net, but the images were all JPEG'd, so I hand-edited them.

Ah okay I get it now. Have you tried using SmashBox to extract stuff? It works much better than pretty much else I've seen for texture extraction. As a nice bonus you can even put your own textures back in which makes texture modding SSBB a lot easier.

Anyway you can download it here if you want to give it a try. Good luck.

(This is a bit off topic) Do you need that Wii homerew channel to run custom textures? I hope not

Technically no, but it helps. All you really need is an SD card, a way to run Gecko OS, some textures to use, and the codes for custom textures.

I haven't personally tried it, but if you want the HomeBrew Channel on your Wii you can use Bannerbomb to install. It looks pretty helpful if you've updated your Wii to 4.0.

Well, I have all of that EXCEPT for Gecko OS... Is that some sort of hackers operating system for wii?

Actually no. You can find it here: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Gecko_os

Keep in mind you still need to have the codes activated to make it work. I'm sure you can find a whole bunch of tutorials for doing it through your favorite search engine.

If you need anymore help with this though just send me a PM since we've derailed this thread a bit more than enough.
