Sega Announces new 2D Sonic title
Pumpkin Hill music was rofl. You know it's true. You can sense it in your feet.

Yuck, my poor ears...I can't cover them, I'm a Pooka! Okay, so SOME songs, were tolerable, but...rap...for Knuckles...and I can't stand his dry lagoon music. Period. I am a critic, but I prefer non-vocal music in most games. Pumpkin hill...was...strange...It made me think...couldn't they just have the voice actor for Knuckles sing his songs? The sonic music got abnoxious after awhile of hearing it on loop, as did dry lagoon. (Yes, I am going to bash dry lagoon as much as possible) But if you mean rofl as in...staring at the speakers with a huge question mark over your head...then I suppose so >_>
Uhm...Velvet, Cornelious...why are you humans? You greedy little monsters! You used the coins without me! Angry

I mean...The "Redemption" song at the VERY end level in Final Fantasy 7: Dirge of The Cerberus was awesome, but that is because it took a TON of effort to make, and it wasn't over used. PS: If they DO just remake the first game, shouldn't they redo 1, 2, 3, and 4? With a little more content and secrets here and there...like maybe...well, costumes wouldn't work so well, new shoes with added effects? (Perma-Flame resist) (Perma-Water resist) (Perma-Ring grab (Not electric barrier) (Perma-Electric Barrier) They could even add special rings into the mix, like a perminate ring that adds 10 or so rings on the start of the level? There's tons of things they could add as bonus content, but there are a lot more possibilities for a new game, but please, for the love of Pooka...ONLY use instrumental music!
Not every song was by a rapper.

"LET'S MOVE AROUND AT THE SPEED OF SOUND, GOT PLACES TO GO GOTTA FOLLOW MY RAINBOW."

you know, the first song in the entire game

but even so, pumpkin hill music was the shit

Pumpkin hill consists of him stating that he's walking around through pumpkin hill and looking for the master emerald pieces with a ghost popping up and dissappearing...It's not THAT bad...but uhm...they could've made the voice actor for Knuckles sing it, and doesn't ANYONE agree that Knuckle's dry lagoon music sucked? Because it did...bad...I mean...no skill...and annoying...especially in hard mode...having to listen to that torture...unless of course you mute it...

Why is no one pointing out that Dry Lagoon is a Rouge stage and this guy doesn't really seem to know what he's talking about?

Both Knuckles and Rouge had awesome beats for their stage music, and the artists for both (sans the vocal artists Hunnid P and Tabitha Fair) went on to do shit for Heroes and Unleashed. And the songs they did in those were fucking awesome too.

Don't be a hata.

Crud, I always get Dry lagoon and wild canyon mixed up...Thank you very much for correcting me, the two stages are very similar...(Mainly because they cloned half and retextured it...) I hate the wild canyon music, dry lagoon isn't very dry though...it's got quite a bit of water in it if i'm not mistaken...? The beats, okay, the lyrics and singer, blech, blech, blech, blech! My personal opinion, I'm not correcting everyone. This is also getting a little off-topic, back to talking about the new game?

Wild Canyon's beat was the shit.

The lyrics were decent and so was the vocalist.

Actually overall SA2's soundtrack was okay.

Without the lirycs, the game wouldn't be the same. the mood it game to every stage was literally half the gameplay. example: white jungle.

PS: to clarify what i said using megaman 9 as an example: megaman 9 was a great a game indeed, but instead of following the 'improvement' curve every megaman game had in the past, it decided to ignore all the previous game and grant us a completely 'new' megaman with no slide or chargeshot, for example. if sega is planning to launch a new Sonic 2D title, i expect them to work based on what they already got on S3&K(or even CD) instead of going all the way back to a sonic without Spindash or any new feature previusly made just as a test subject leaving room to launch sequels with 'new improvements'. if anything i'd love to see what they did on sonic pocket adventure as a huge remix of all previous 3 sonic games.
Thanked by:
This is true. There's no reason why Sonic should lack a spindash; and since Sonic Advance 2, no reason to leave out Air tricks (Which usually change your air momentum to give you more height or more distance, so they're actually really useful).

how did I miss the discussion about SA2B's soundtrack
I have the ENTIRE 2 disc OST on my iPod.

I personally like the jazzy Rouge BGMs the most, but there's no way you can honestly tell me that Pumpkin Hill isn't the shit.
but anyway;

I really love in Sonic Adventure 2 how each character's stage has a different song style. Rouge had that jazzy-like song, Knuckles had rap (and a bit of techno in Meteor Herd which is a fucking awesome music), Sonic had the pop-rock, etc. Some styles did repeat (like Robotnik and Shadow, both share the same song style, and I think that Tails' is a bit of pop-rock too) but still, it was quite cool, and SA2 has a great soundtrack.

I also have most of the musics from SA2 and the vocals from SA1 on my iPOD.
But like a friend o'mine would say "Personal taste is like ass: everybody got your own" so it's no using discussing why he don't like the soundtrack

Sonic Advance and Sonic Rush games weren't that bad, they were great games following the old formula but.. It might be just me or there is something... I don't know yet, lacking.

One good thing about those new shitty Sonic games is they make money for SEGA, so they could try new games that could be not so profitable as expected, like Madworld and House of the Dead: Overkill. After all, all companies need their cash cows.

i remember listening to sa2 music all the time pretty much all the theme and level songs were decent
especially knuckles and rouge's BGM's like aquatic mine and meteor herd
it would seem weird if sega took away sonic's newer abilites so i think sega might make the game like sonic rush/advance
but add tails as a playable character in the next game if there is one which would make it like the first two games
