No, they just over exaggerated his size, if you look at New Super Mario Bros. Wii intro, he is shorter, and also in Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, he is shorter than Peach.

As with Bowser, his size is not consistant throughout the games. In the main platform adventure games (64, Sunshine, Galaxy) he is large. In Sunshine Bowser looked like he was 30 feet tall and we only ever say his upper body. In 64 he was 3x Mario's height and in Galaxy he changed a lot (cutscenes before battles had him about 2x Mario's height, but in battle has was about 3.5x). The same goes for Jr. In the party and sport games, they need to size him down. I'd say NSMB is a good reference, in which he is just slightly shorter than Mario, who only goes up to about Peach's shoulders. The size he is at right now is fine, if not a little too tall.

I don't think so, because he doesn't use it all the time, only in sports, and in SMS. So I think he should only do that when he is using things like side A. I also see him running and with Side A, he takes out his paintbrush and spins with it, and goop splashes off, and it damages people, like that flower thing.

Link doesn't always use his sword.

But for a Majority of his attacks he uses it, which is the same for Jr.

Down B, pulls/puts away Paintbrush, as he does this it goop flings from it, if hit, can either electrocute them, burn them, or poison them. (this changes each time), that way, he can have his paintbrush (but for me, only normal attacks, like with the A button, because he only used it once in an adventure game, which is why I think he should not have it in the first place)
