I don't. The shading on 2 and 3 is infinitely superior.

They do, but to me, it almost seems like he doesn't fit well.
It could just be me, but oh well.

I like the eyes better on the first, but the shading is indeed better on the latter two.

I disagree,i believe that the first one looks more in-style due to it being more cartoon-ish. But the shading needs to be improved, a lot.

Uh, no. The 2nd & 3rd ones eyes look extremely akward. Which really ruins the feel of the sprite.

The Middle part of his eye is too high up, maing his pupils appear to close together. This is what classic Sonic's eyes were shaped like, but since were using his modern design, #1 fits best. It fits with the body more, and looks more Sonic Advance-ish.
