I wish people would voice why they are voting for Tails instead of just voting and leaving.

My reasoning for voting for Knuckles is because there is much less shoehorning we'd have to do for him, and that Tails isn't much of a fighter to begin with. You'd quicker see him provide a more supportive role, or simply standing at the sidelines.

I think Roy is... Probably... Either way Tonberry set it so that there are like 8 third party characters. If we ditch the double third party thing we'd have Snake, Sonic, Mega Man, Marina and FOUR other characters! We could have all the best.

Putting Knuckles in before Tails is like putting Bowser in before Luigi. Tails is the most iconic character to the series aside from Sonic himself, plus he'd be more fun to use.

As of right now Roy is still in. I'm not sold on the swapping fighters FE character. We've already got the Pokemon. Why swap one obscure character for three more?

I voted Tails. I honestly have never played a game with Sonic in it besides Brawl and Mario & Sonic Olympics. So this is sort of an outsider opinion. But the first post said Vote or Die, so I voted. Although I do know about the series a little, I don't really know anything about the characters personalities or fighting ability. I assume that they both have the potential to have a good moveset because they all have been playable in the past. Tails seems like a cuter and friendlier character, while Knuckles seems very strong, and badass. However, Tails is just the second most important character in the series. Its as if, in the original Smash, if anyone else from the Mario series had gotten in before Luigi it wouldn't have seemed right. Or if anyone from the DK series had made it before Diddy. Its just whenever I hear the words 'Sonic Characters', Tails comes to my mind before Knuckles. So there, that's my reasoning.

I think I remember someone (it might have been koopaul but I really don't know) coming up with an order of characters to make in from each series. It was something like Main Character, Right Hand Man, Main Bad Guy, Leading Lady. But this sort of formula doesn't always work, but it does usually. Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Peach. Fox, Falco, Wolf (who sort of fits the anti-hero role, more, but is still a bad guy), Krystal. DK, Diddy, K. Rool, Dixie. Link, Young Link (a stretch because the Right Hand Man changes throughout the games with like Navi and Midna, and a lot of the times there wasn't one at all), Ganondorf, Zelda. Point is, Tails fits the role in terms of importance to the series and deserving to be in much better than Knuckles does.

I know, but do I need a source? You asked us to vote, which means pretty much to express our opinions on which should be in. I said which should be in, in my opinion. I don't need to say why, but I did because everyone here was bitching about no one giving reasons. Reputable source or not, its part of my reason.

Sorry, I've already finished to do my homework, I can't post before.

I've voted for Tails. I know that Knuckles is maybe better for be in Smash, but I like Tails a lot and in my opinion he might be a great moveset with his inventions and attacks.

On the other hand, if Knuckles wins the poll, I'll be sure that he can be a amazing character ^^

Tails isn't a fighter. Almost his entire movelist has to be shoehorned. Knuckles is. Tails may be an "important character" but he doesn't have enough moves or usefulness to be his own character. He'd fit so much better off as an assist trophy with his mechs.

What was Tails able to do in the games? Everything Sonic can do, and fly. Knuckles had more of his own abilities and could glide. He was his own character. Tails had almost no usefulness unless a second player was controlling him and then he was used to fly Sonic places. That's it. He's never stood out as a character that could make it on his own, so why make him a fighter?
