I think that Board the Platforms can be divided into difficulty, and therefore, could be played in co-op, and Break the Targets would be individual per characters, that way we could have both ways.

Those are my personal three favorites out of the list of synonyms. If we're not going with a synonym for "fight" for the title, maybe:

Super Smash Bros. Forever?

I think it fits, because by making this game we're continuing Smash Bros., even if Nintendo doesn't plan to, plus, if the game does end up having downloadable content, it would emphasize how the game experience would "keep going." It gets the same message across as +, but is a bit more eloquent, if you don't mind me saying so, haha.

Edit: Duke Nukem Forever jokes, calling it now.

Quoting so people see it.

I looked up synonyms for "battle" and I found Strife. Super Smash Bros. Strife sounds good imo. But I was thinking that we should aim for something that doesn't sound like a sequel, but more as an "alternative" game.

This.

I think I now like Sol's suggestion the most. I like sound of "Forever" after "Super Smash Bros." Plus, he gave a reasonable reason to name it that.

I had an idea that, for the difficulty, we could just move the targets around each individual stage. Just like in Brawl, the targets themselves would get smaller as the difficulty got higher. They could be placed farther apart on higher difficulties, or at hard-to-reach places.

As for the name, I thought Super Smash Bros. Fray sounded cool, but the innitials would be the same as SSB Flash, which I'm sure is something we don't want to really associate with. Strife does sound cool though, but I like the + one, too.

Plus and Forever sound the best, in my opinion. I don't think "Brawl" sounded quite as good as "Melee" (as a title, gameplay completely aside), and most other synonyms I've heard seem equally or further blech.

Forever is definitly an appealing name.

"With downloadable content and more, you'll be brawling Forever!"

Indeed, and it also reminds me of that Chris Brown song, which is fucking awesome.

On the topic of BtP and BtT, I agree with Rökkan in that there should be one Target Test for every character, but if BtP is included, do it by difficulty level. Is Race to the Finish going to be re-implemented as well?

I don't really think it should be since in Melee it seemed like it was replaced by the Adventure stages and we're adding those types of stages back in anyway.

There was Race to the Finish in Melee's Classic Mode. Brawl got rid of it.
