No. Just because your name is RICKhog doesn't mean that your avatar MUST be RICKhog. Are you seeing a Mario avatar in oB2Ko Mario's posts? I guess not.

come on mate you can do better than that. At least try to be a little more creative with the character design, I mean really, giving Sonic a pair of shades and painting him green is hardly worth being a new character entirely. Because you have to convince people that this is YOUR character and not just another crappy rip-off (which sorry to say is what he currently looks like) try shaping him a little differently I mean with the spikes alone you have more than enough options to make him look more unique like making them longer, shorter, thinner, thicker, more, less, and just having them completely re-angled, then you can also change his structure a little like making him taller, shorter, bulkier, fatter, I don't think you can make him any thinner, and then you even have the little extras you can add you him like body marks, paint and a bit of bling here and there, and why a hedgehog? I mean sure they're cool as hell but that's Sonics thing you know, cause it's not as if being a hedgehog will make him any cooler if anything it'll just make you look like another wannabe, there are more than enough cool animals out there to choose from, at least look into it.

well I could go on but I think that'll do for meow. so yeah just please think about it ok?

You can just make a hedgehog that is green and has whatever you add on him, that is not edited.
I don't see how he is evil, but nu, and can make like your own plot, with his own story or somthing, but make your own Custom sprite.
Some really good spriters most likely did start out with edits and recolours. But later they move on to custom work, learned new styles and so on.
Edit have never really got to far because its not there real work, just a recolour or they have some item on or with them.
Seeing as you think your that good with editing, why not try making your own sprite. Just start out small and work your way up.
Like maybe if you did that, others may see that your not so bad, and that maybe all this ranting or whatever would stop.
And that they can maybe help you become a better spriter.
And don't say MS paint fails, I know alot of good spiters that use MS paint and are really good.

He's not Evil,the sheet i edited him from is.
I'll consider making customs when i can.
I don't use MS paint,i use Gimphoto.

Ok, the rename part you can do whatever you like, but I still insist. How about making a drawing af your RickHog, in real paper.
Then trying to make it into the computer using paint or another program you have to sprite.
If your kind of insecure try asking people in the Sprite Discussion forum. Maybe then people will help (I know that I would) And you'll have a brand new avatar to show off. And you'll also have more experience as one of us.

clearly trying to explain or flaming you wont take us anywhere, so lets try something diferent:

take that as a base, and edit, tweak and shade it acording to how your character should look. it looks like crap because i spend ten seconds on it, but the idea is that you now have something better than an overused sonic sprite and you can still make something original from it without having to start from zero.
