Sonic the Hedgehog Games Model Ripping
#46
I've ripped a couple of models from Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, but have a problem: I can't seem to find models of certain characters. In some cases, I can find their textures, but not their models. And in Eggman's case, I found his model, but not his texture.

Finally, my memory of the game is hazy, since it's been years since I've played it, and I'm not sure there are many good guides online, so I'm having trouble identifying enemies and matching their textures.

It has been intending to use Sonic '06 hovercraft to resurrect EarthBound 64 from Nintendo grave.

If you unpack the href files and send me a zip of those unpacked files, I can see what I can do to help!
Also for a guide, look for the pdf of the official sonic chronicles guide book to download, it is pretty decent!

*Edit* I have been able to unpack everything on my own after some hard work-around and I can now help you! Hmm you said that you had difficulties finding eggman and his textures? I found both his textures and his model. The model was at "egm_aa.nsbmd.small" and the textures were at "egm_aa.nsbtx.small" I used MKDS Course Modifyer to open it and extract the files. Anything else that you need help with?

If the file is right in plain sight, then maybe I didn't unpack everything properly.

I don't know atm, but I would suggest asking specific people, around the forums here, and search the internet on how to rip either Ps3 games & Xbox (& Xbox 360) [Since these are the platforms/consoles that the Sonic 06 game is from/runs on] games in general, then see if there are any existing guides at unpacking or ripping for Sonic 06.

(I haven't gotten to that game yet due to the current ones that I am working on, and I have not gotten to unpacking & ripping from those systems yet, so see if you can find out how to do it on your own with help for now.)

You are lucky though that other people have done it before (as evident by some models from the game already uploaded), because that means it is possible to do, and that means more than likely you can find out info on how to do it yourself, unlike some of the games that I have had to work with (Like Sonic Chronicles where there was no guide and I had to find things out about it and only recently was able to do things because researching, and asking others paid off.)

Keep us updated man and ask more questions, or if you run into trouble during your search if you don't understand something such as coming to a stop because something makes no sense to you. We would be happy to help any way we can indirectly by viewing what you have viewed for now, it is just that most of us atm are currently working on ripping from specific games and are not done with them yet.

How to rip Sonic 06 models in one forum search; Download an iso of the game or rip one, then use the 3ds max script provided here https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2787...Update.zip, (Credit to ItsEasyActually and RTB ) and use that to rip the games model files, which are .XNO. They're even rigged!
The model files are contained in .arc files, and the texture files I remember are easy to rip if you have some sweet photoshopping skills or something like that.

Here are some models that I have ripped from "Sonic Chronicles".

BTW, in "Sonic Chronicles" when I try to open up or unpack/extract/view the files for "armdiln_aa.nsbtx.small" I t doesn't unpack via command prompt with the "unnsbtx" from "xoreos-tools" and if I am using "MKDS Course Editor" which worked with the other ".nsbtx.small" files for this specific file, it just crashes that window. So I have the model of the "Armadillo" from "Sonic Chronicles" but I need help to get its texture. Here is a screenshot of the command prompt error.

So I just looked at Sonic Battle with its levels and Sonic Unleashed (Mobile) and saw a clock tower and these looked to be in 3d. I wonder if these games have 3d models or not. What are your guys' opinions on this matter?
