RE: Pokemon Pink - cloudsnapper - 12-30-2008

Okay, first of all, nice Missingo, second, I decided that my Dragonite wasn't all that good so I made an entirely new one. Hope you like it!

RE: Pokemon Pink - Zerrodo - 12-30-2008

Nice Dragonite Wink Oh, and My Missingno isn't a Custom. X Gamer 66 said that the original sprite should be in pink. The only custom part to it is the back. Frosty!

RE: Pokemon Pink - Wes - 12-30-2008

WIP Golem, still needs arms and AA. I'll make Tauros when I'm done.

RE: Pokemon Pink - cloudsnapper - 12-31-2008

Wow, the Tauros draft is awesome and the Golem too! Wink Smile

RE: Pokemon Pink - Wes - 12-31-2008

No, that Tauros isn't mine. Thats the one from Yellow to use as reference. The Golem to the right, the one with no arms, is my WIP.

EDIT: Update, finished Golem. Mine has the red line under it.

RE: Pokemon Pink - cloudsnapper - 12-31-2008

Ah, I see. Well, its still awesome. Cool Nice Golem by the way! Smile

Thanks. Tauros done. I think he might he to big, but I can always shrink him a bit.

EDIT: Yeah, I just checked and Tauros was too wide. So I shrunk him a tad without making it too noticeable.

That red box around them is the maximum dimensions used in Pokemon Yellow

RE: Pokemon Pink - cloudsnapper - 12-31-2008

Heh look at my maximum dimensions. (56 - 56) [Image: dragonitedimmensionsvz2.png]

RE: Pokemon Pink - Zerrodo - 12-31-2008

Dang your dragonite is way to big O.o

RE: Pokemon Pink - cloudsnapper - 12-31-2008

Exactly xD. I'm trying to make it smaller so it'll work.
EDIT: Well, this is the best I can do without making it look freakish Wink. Anyway, I'll let XGamer comment on this Tongue. The dimmensions here are 56 by 66. I'll see how this works out...

RE: Pokemon Pink - Wes - 12-31-2008

I think what you should have done was hid that wing behind Dragonite. In the first version of the newer sprite, There is a huge empty space under his wing. That space could have been used to put his body. SO instead of deforming him with a tiny body, you could have shrunk the wing by making it look folded behind him, and then used more of the sprite area on the body of Dragonite. Pokemon style has a way of tucking things in so they are condensed but don't look squished. Also, to fix the hieght, you could have made those antenna things smaller.
Look at the official Yellow sprites for Areodactyl and Charizard. They both have their wings extended, but they are angles so that one wing is hidden, so it doesn't take up space. Also, their tails are curled so they take up smaller space and overlap other parts of the sprite. So if you tuck back Dragonite's wing thats sticking out, you'll have more room in the sprite to put his body. Or like how in the official Snorlax Sprite, his arms and feet are all overlapping his body so they take up the same space. Do you mind if I edit your Dragonite to show what I mean?

Speaking of Snorlax, I tried a new one because the first post said he was started, but free to be worked on by anyone. I tried to make it look like he wasn't dead, but that didn't turn out right. So I added Z's. but IMO he seems kinda small.

RE: Pokemon Pink - cloudsnapper - 12-31-2008

No, it's okay for you to edit it Big Grin. Oh, and nice Snorlax. You're a pretty good spriter. Oh, and which wing should I tuck in - the one by his tail of the one stretched out Question? EDIT: Finally! I made it 56 by 56 though he's terribly small Cry.

RE: Pokemon Pink - Zerrodo - 12-31-2008

Even if he is terrribly small, it's still good. And nice Snorlax EpicWes.

RE: Pokemon Pink - cloudsnapper - 12-31-2008

Thanks lol, it took me a while to get it 56 by 56 and its still good Smile.

RE: Pokemon Pink - Wes - 12-31-2008

Alright, this isn't a full edit. i just adressed soem problems I saw with your sprite as en example for you to fix them.

I started by removing the wings, antenna, and tail. These are smaller things that could be adde don later. First, the main body should be made.
Then, I removed the shading so its easier to see. I completely redid the feet and arms by using the official sprite as an example. There, you can see how big his feet and arms look compared to his body, and his body compared to his head. I made him drastically bigger, while staying within the size limit.
Then, I redrew the wings, antenna, and tail. I made the tail alrge because, in the official sprite, it shows Dragonite with a large tail. This means the tail should be pretty big. To make room for the larger tail, I shrunk the wing on the opposite side. Since you can't see as much of that side of his body, that wing should obviously be smaller. This left a lot of room above the tail to add the other wing.

I didn't expand on it because I don't quite think this sprite works for the project. (I may be wrong, but thats up to XGamer, not me). Its good for a beginner like yourself, but the pose is very awkward and it would take an excellent spriter, much better than me, to pull of a pose like this. Dragonite is also a hard Pokemon to draw. I suggest that you try a smaller one first. You got the right idea down, but in the end the sprite didn't work out the way you planned.
