Anybody have any knowledge of the PSX format ".tod"? It appears to be an animation file for sprites, which is used on a few different games... SaGa Frontier II uses it, and if there are any good tools out there, it'd really make ripping the game super easy.

Never heard of it.
But I googled psx format tod and found this: http://consolecopyworld.com/psx/psx_util...TOD%20Info

I got the same thing - sadly it'll just take them out but not as a usable format. They display in tGGD but, yeah...

Might be better if I post this here
I've been looking for a way to rip from a 2D Fighter Maker 95 project for quite a while now, because this looks quite interesting to me. According to what I've been told, this was ripped from a game on the same engine, so its possible, but I've been having the hardest time with Arm Joe for some reason. Any help on this would be immensely appreciated.

Hello friends. Once again I delve into this thread and hope for help. Now, I know the method exists, because the sprites are on-site. HOW does one rip from Cross Edge / X-Edge for the PS3? I really want to explore the graphics of this game and hope I can get some assistance...

The PS3 version has some unknown compression to its files. Second, that reminds me that I still have the last few character sprite sets to upload to the site. Haven't gotten around to it yet because piecing them together for the icons is a bit annoying. Ask Dazz about the rest, since he was the one that talked to me about it earlier.

Aw man...I need to ask more questions here before I decide to actually get games to dump from...I mean I know there's ways to download them but I'm not really keen on the whole aspect...but in this case I'd probably make an exception as I these sorts of games really interest me. Anyway...I'll try to see if I can find either the game itself in town (or if someone wants to PM me a method of getting the proper files otherwise...).

The 360 port is Japan only, I'm afraid. I imported it to explore the file compression after I saw the same format for another game. It's pretty simply stored with no compression!

Forgive me if this was already asked elsewhere/is an obvious question (couldn't find anything about it, and this is my first time trying to rip from PSP games, but):
I've been trying to rip sprites from Dangan Ronpa, but I've hit an impasse pretty early on. The sprites (as well as pretty much everything else) seem to be stored in files called umdimage1.dat and umdimage2.dat, though I have absolutely no idea how to extract them. Help? :V

Well, again I'm here. I was wondering if anyone knew how to rip from the Pokemon ranger series properly? I know they've been more or less ripped entirely for us, but there's some aspects I'd like to explore for myself with them. Can anybody help?

Does someone know if there is a way to change the black background in MAME's tile viewer?
