This song is really effing beautiful and sad. I've also been listening to the 25th Anniversary Zelda Symphony stuff. It's lovely music, but I can't find a good video for it, so whatever. I started playing Persona recently too, and the music score is pretty great itself.

The disconnect between Iori's violent personality and his eternally classy themes has always amazed me. Not that I'm complaining (edit: replaced Cool Jam with a higher quality version)
^ I wish I knew what those games are or had played them, cause the music is really neat.

Well, simply put, King of Fighters is a fighting game series from SNK, where you choose 3 characters for a team and take on other 3-fighter teams, made up of characters from other SNK series and original characters made for KoF specifically. If you want to get into the series, a good jumping off point would be tracking down a copy of the King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga for the PS2 or Wii (or really any of the various remakes or ports, mostly for PS2, but Collection's probably the best bang for your buck), but since that might be hard to find, you could always emulate them with an arcade emulator to try 'em out or just pick up the newest entry to the series, KoFXIII. Just stay away from 2003 and XII. I suppose it's fair to mention that those are arranged versions of themes from the game, so here's a few of my favorites in their original form, from KoF '98, which brought together every character thus far in the series for a kind of "What if?" scenario, and also brought together some of the best music from the games. (spoilered because a lot of videos!) Oh and, unrelated, here are two songs that I like that sound really similar: |
