Not to sound like I'm talking down on SUMO. In fact, I think they do an amazing job and do SEGA's franchises great justice. The point I was trying to make was that games like Sonic Colors and Generations at least tried to appeal, while Nintendo just doesn't try anymore. Mario Kart 7 was good, NSMB2 was good, Mario Tennis Open is just Mario Tennis from what I've heard (that game I do not own), but none of them are great. Calling it Mario simply sells and it looks like they simply hang on to that policy, and it is such a shame. I'm a huge Mario fan and would defend NSMB2 from being called 'bad', but I wish I could praise it to the stars, but I can't. That hurts my gaming soul.

The writing is still really good, I've laughed out loud a few times and it has me smiling frequently. It's just that there's not as much writing, and there's barely a story to tie any of it together. I'm on world 3, which is my favourite world so far, and the chapter actually has a central character with his own personality, and an actual story that ties the stuff you do in world 3 together. Unfortunately, that central character is a generic Wiggler...named Wiggler. I swear they were under specific orders not to create any new characters while developing this game. It's bizarre. I kind of hope they do an Iwata Asks on the game that gives some insight into their design philosophy, because I'm completely stumped.

IIRC, the game design choises made for Sticker Star come from the fact that it's a handheld game. Looking at the Mario & Luigi games, that has to be a dumb excuse for some things.
They got rid of the story so you can quit and continue later on and not get confused where you were in the story. Because it's handheld, Nintendo assumes everyone takes a break after every 10 minutes.

Attention everyone:
Terraria is currently $3.39 on Steam. That is a complete steal for the fun you will have with this game. If you don't have it, buy it now and we can play multiplayer.

Terraria? I think I still have some copies to give away if anyone wants one?
I never got around to play my own copy.

Get around to it.
It's really fun.

warning: only fun if you play for a long enough time
(the equipment you get improves the gameplay pretty drastically as does the more interesting enemies)

I played it with a friend and could never get past the "digging is boring as shit" portion in the beginning. And enemies never seemed like they'd be fun to fight and more just boring nuisances? Probably some truth to having to play it for a long time, but it felt like it was taking too long to be worth it. Also maybe didn't help that my friend was kind of just leading me along for what to do when I might have enjoyed it more if I was just given the chance to explore it myself rather than have him tell me everything to do.

That's why I don't play co-op with people very often. A lot of the time my friends just like to rush through stuff, while I like to explore and just take my time.

Me and my buddy from Game-A-Thon Live got it. It's pretty fun.

Damn it, why don't people make any more GOOD educational games any more? All the old good ones don't work on newer PCs, and I'm sure there is still an audience there (albeit a smaller one than OH MAN CASUALS EVERYWHERE).
If these games are still being made though... then weko @ me Thanked by: Crappy Blue Luigi
