I have some criticism on the girl, particularly, on her hair.
I think the shading might be a tad off on the twirly hair thing on her forehead. It gets really dark at the lower left corner, which suggests the least amount of light is reaching there. However, the further part of her head suggests the lightsource is coming from somewhere on the upper right, and that plenty of light would be able to reach there. It kind of suggests the light is coming completely from the right when it isn't really.
A visual to (hopefully) complement the explanation.
The corkscrews also look off...They actually get lost in her striped shirt. I'd say they have too much of the dark hue per area. The shapes are also inconsistent, the first curl of the left one looks like a kidney, whereas the other one looks much more spherical. Generally, I think you should make them larger if you want to have those high-contrast shadows on them.
I made some edits, too, hopefully they'll give you some ideas:
(the three on the left are my edits, right is your latest revision)
Oh, another thing about her front hair, I thought it would look a tad better if it transitioned more smoothly to the back hair, instead of having them completely isolated by those black lines. Then I noticed that if I did that, the top curl would be in the wrong direction, so I inverted it. IMO, it helps making it look less like she has a pastry on her forehead, but take what you will of it.
I love your sprites and animation, by the way! Awesome work overall.

Thanks for the Crit, Iocus! I'll get back to editing that sprite shortly.
In the meantime, I've been thinking about modifying the way that the crowd tiles would be handled in Fighting Titans!! and I thought that maybe blending them a bit more with the stands would make them less of a distraction to the player.
I also think that some stages could potentially omit the bleachers and repeat the crowd tiles, leaving a bit of sky space to potentially add some background elements for aesthetic appeal (though that's still just an idea)
also, here are two additional arena maps; depending on how much space would be used on the hypothetical cartridge, other emblems could be added.
The one below is intended to be reminiscent of Portuguese-styled sidewalks like the ones found in Brazil and Portugal.
If I do decide to include additional emblems and designs for the arenas, they would likely have to be symmetrical as a space-saving measure.

The colors are way off on this one, but here's a little bit more FT stuff:
I've added more sprites for the Hawkindle character (two more) Here, we see the titan using its charged physical attack (done by holding and releasing A) in-game, it would take longer to be able to pull off this move and there'd be a bit more challenge to use the charged physicals in general, but it makes the playstyle of the Titans a bit more varied.
there would be visual feedback to show that you (and your opponent) are charging a move via palette cycling (the colors would change rapidly a la the Super star in Super Mario Bros.)
I like the feeling of weight that Hawkindle has in mid-flight, it's very Balloon Fight-esque.
That's all for now, but I'll have more to show soon!

I almost forgot that I had this sprite in the works (it's been so long since I've worked on it, actually. I started it near the beginnning of last year at the latest.)
it started off as Hawkindle facing the camera and spreading its wings and shrieking, then I thought of maybe making a full sheet and I guess it kinda fizzled out.
But like a phoenix rising, I could start playing around with this sprite a bit. maybe I could make an idle, facing the camera sprite or even better, he could be sitting on a bench (facing the camera, obviously) and transition to the wing spread animation in a sort of character select screen.

Here I am, expanding the player spritesheet a tiny bit..
also added the A/B attack sprites for the blue/green fella.
I still need to include at least win/lose poses and charge attacks to the players, then start figuring out something for the pause screen.

Speaking of the blue/green guy, what is he? Some kinda wolf-dinosaur-scyther thing?

Kind of, it's more of a Hyena/Thylacene(Tasmanian Tiger)/Kangaroo with claws made for slashing and cutting.
Here's the concept art of 'im.
If you look at its walking sprites, you can see that it doesn't have a walk cycle like the others, this is because it hops instead of walking.

Holy crap, that hyena-roo is now my favorite titan! I'll be spriting him once I'm done with Kamekannon!
so yeah i got the engine to work
and i even programmed the altitude properties
i'm doing this in Haxe by the way, using the haxeflixel library

Oh man, this is super-rad!
Here's another mock-up animation using different Titans, demonstrating how Knaels move and what melee attacking could be like (they lunge forward to make a hit, but shift back to their original position where they triggered the attack)

Nice Lexou and Sketchasaurus. Sorry this is a bit off topic but how did you handle coding the layering/depth correctly?
I found this thread a while ago http://www.gamedev.net/topic/629496-dyna...lgorythms/ . It's about making the game 3D which gives you depth testing automatically without some special algorithm junk. For example, imagine walking through the middle of a block. The old way would mean you're always either visually in front or behind it. With a bit of setup work, you'd also be able to in-between things.
It's probably overkill for what you guy want to do though, but goodluck =p
Man that animation is good, you should try getting a good 1-2 minute animation when all this is done of a tournament style battle.
Loving the look of the sprites and all their poses!

Thanks! I'm hoping to be able to put together an animation with these Fighting Titans!! sprites and the ones of the newscaster character that I had posted way earlier in the thread. Kind of a let's play, but it's all pre-animated and scripted. ahaha
I'm super excited from all of the positive feedback and interest that people have shown in these sprites, it makes it all worth it to draw and think of this stuff!
Hmm.. Maybe I'll start up a thread in the Games Development forum since this is becoming something playable thanks to Lexou C:
