LEVELS
#91
The story we have now is incredibly vague, but what I could find is in the first part of the resources post:

"STORY
(might need to be tweaked)
"A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, the very fabric of a small world began to rapidly unravel. Four knights, Kat, Kosheh, Grooveman, and Dex frantically tried to cease the World War that had engulfed the nations of the world tSRopia. However, one of the knights, Dex, was unmercifully slain as he tried to quiet the violent hearts of tSRopia's warriors. Angered at the loss of one of his appointed knights, a massive light erupted from the sky as Dazz, the creator of this universe, descended to the world of tSRopia. He began to destroy his creations, weeping as he attempted to purify his evil engulfed world. However, he decided to spare the worlds greatest fighters. He planned on creating a new world, a resourceful based upon video games. Ultimately, he was unsatisfied with himself as well, and decided he would no longer rule as the most supreme being of the universe. Dazz decided to host a tournament to determine his successor. To make the tournament more entertaining, he embedded the contestants with the powers of the greatest fighters of Video Game history, so the mighty god Dazz would not become bored to a basic, monotonous fighting tournament. Dazz soon left in a chariot of fire, and the fighters prepared for the most important tournament in the history of tSRopia.""

I have an idea for a level, but idk if it'd work out well. Basically, since Midas Machine has been a large part of my spriting... thing, I wanted to do something related to that, so I figured I'd make a level based on that. I wanted to do something creative, so my idea is that I will take one of the OWs (in this case, World 4, the ice world), and sprite it on a smaller scale, the end results being two giant sized fighters throwing down in a frozen tundra.

As you can see, the world includes forests (off screen), a Vegas styled city, castles, ect, so having two giant fighters smashing around would be pretty cool.

Idk, would a level like this work/be allowed? I don't see anything wrong with it but I figured I'd ask before I try and start it.

EDIT- I feel I should point out that the end result wouldn't have anything directly Mario related. Just a snowy tundra with a small city in the center.

Not much progress, but tried adding some texture. The floor still looks flat, though...

Good job Chris.

Someone needs to make some stage icons though since there aren't any.

You know, I'd do those. Any good size resolutions I could do it in, because I would..

Hey, Mr. Balls! Why not try this out for your TSR stage?

[Image: tsr_stage_by_dragondeplatino-d83vkex.png]

You could foreshorten the checkerboard pattern a bit and add some shading near the edges to make it look less flat. Also, I noticed some of your colors broke the universal TFR palette...is that allowed for something like this? I mean, it would be kind of hard getting the stage to work using only TFR colors.

Here's how the old version looks in my game http://i.imgur.com/jayilOt.mp4

edit: The large entity's arms are supposed to be cheering but the animation isn't playing for some reason.

I've removed Princess and the fruit pile, since Princess is now a playable character and fruit is represented in her moveset. I've also removed the ball joints, since the new wall adds enough depth and they might as well be positioned behind the cannon arms.
I'll might add more later, though the spectators still go here.
I tried to make either the moon from Super Bouncy Cat or rainbows, but the background might get to cluttered with the Dragon's Keep silhouette in the background and they'd have to be pretty big. I'll see what I'll do eventually. Maybe add a gold horse statue found in Princess Fantasy's Babylon Kingdom.

EDIT:
New background. Includes some rainbows and Super Bouncy Cat's moon, like I mentioned trying before.

Also touched up Castle.

I wanted to point out that I can make stage palettes and elements change between rounds. However, control is somewhat limited. I can either change them based on a variable that rises every round, or it could be completely random.

Concept art/mockup of a stage idea, TSRopolis. Probably won't make much progress on this until my character is done, but the concept is there anyway. The final version will probably not have lighting on the spectators but I included it in the concept because whatever. The Mahou Shoujo Tellis Chan in the sky would probably be smaller and be animated if that's possible. She would just fly by occasionally
And I know there would never be that many characters on the screen at once, I just wanted to show a bunch of characters on different parts of the stage
