Don't you have to solve a captcha when registering here? If anything it would stop those spambots.

You do and it doesn’t. I’m thinking these are actual people being paid slave wages to register and spam links.

How about E-mail activation?

All new accounts require you to click a link in an email before they can post so they’re getting through that step as well.

I didnt really check into it each day, but its the same links that are spammed in forum, arent they? Maybe we could do a list of those links that are spammed. Then, if those links are used in a posts, especially in the thread titles, auto-kick the user? Or at least prevent the post from being created?

My goal was to prevent any threads that used a URL as the title entirely but there doesn’t seem to be a way to do that. At least not with the vanilla software. Maybe a plugin could.

How about we change this to "Neo Geo Pocket / NGPC" It'd be the same way we have Game Boy/ GBC

I'm not sure if this has ever been brought up before, but (particularly for Models Resource but it could apply on all of them) since it can take time to approve new submissions (which is reasonable), what if there was a link that let registered users download pending stuff, just with a disclaimer they haven't been checked and not being visible if logged out? It would allow for folks like me who are looking for something to see if it's at least been submitted, and are made aware that it might not be up to par but is better than nothing. Heck, such a feature could even add a way to flag obvious troll uploads and have them deleted after a certain amount, which would cut down on the useless things to check. Or upvote quality uploads so they get prioritized for approval. Of course some folks might make new accounts to manipulate this system but there could be a certain threshold they have to reach before it's available.

This has been suggested a number of times but we won't ever be exposing unchecked submissions to the public because it defeats the purpose of requiring submissions to be checked to begin with. Even limiting it to just registered members (which, admittedly, would cut down significantly on the number of people with access to it) is still exposing it to too many people.

I would love to see people who actually read and abide by the rules. This thread is for suggestions pertaining to the sites themselves. You are not allowed to make requests here, or anywhere outside of the requests section for that matter.

This might be a bit far fetched but, would it be possible to cancel a pending revision to something you have?
Like in case your revision of a sheet or a zip full of sounds is still missing something and you need to go back and re-add it because once someone submits a revision to something, it can't be edited until it gets approved or rejected.

There isn't a system set up to do this and building it for such edge cases really isn't worth it. You can always PM one of the site staff to reject it for you though.

Well, a suggestion I have would be to add the date the model/sprite/sound was published.

That information wasn’t stored prior to the latest revision of the site so it couldn’t be done for at least half of our content.

Just as a reminder because this has happened three times recently (the posts have since been deleted) -- the "Suggestions" thread is NOT for posting sprite rip requests! Anyone who does so will be getting a warning!
