Final Fantasy VI iOS sounds format
#1
Hi again. Thanks to puggsoy I got to extract all the graphic resources from FF6 iOS. Now mi intention is to extract all the SFX from the game, but they are in format .akb. Who have played the game in a smartphone should know that the SFX are the same than the SNES version and till now there isn´t a compilation from all these sounds.

I would like to extract and post them here for your own use. Here is the folder with the sound files:
FF6 iOS AKB Sounds

Thank you and regards!

Very nice, but don't forget to submit them to the site itself. Wink

I think he wants to know how to extract the sounds from the AKB files, Mystie Wink

If I can find the time I'll try to download and look through them. With luck they should be similarly simple to the FLB files.

EDIT: BGM_00.akb seems to contain OGG files, I'm seeing "OggS" and "Vorbis" around the place. More than I would expect though, it might be some weird variation or possibly even compressed? I hope not though. The other AKB files, either contain raw OGG/MP3/WAV data or some compressed stuff.

That was at a quick glance, maybe I can find out more when I'm not pressed for time.

Sorry for the incovenients puggsoy. I hope they would be easy to extract, only would be necessary the SFX files, but if it is possible try if you can manage also with the BGM files.
Thank you!

Sorry for the delay, I sort of left this sitting for a while, but I made some progress. Some files contain OGG files, as I said, but they're just plain and uncompressed. I can extract them by hand but not sure how to go about automating it properly.

This is for the first few files (I checked BGM_00.akb, s000.akb, s001.akb, s002.akb, and s002_loop.akb), which I assume is just music. For the sounds, those are still confusing, but I'll see what I can do.

Oh, didn't realize that. Sorry.

I just skimmed the post, saw the link, and assumed he already extracted them. My bad. *anime sweat drop*

Thank you very much for your trouble. I'll be waiting for the results, and I hope you will not be difficult to unzip the files. Let me know if I can help with anything, although I really do not know much about this kind of topics.

Regards!
