various rips
That thing always reminded me of a Malboro from Final Fantasy.

And now it's on the site with a new rip.

Added:
- Spore Spawn

Not sure what to do next, it will be either Draygon or Ridley.

I guess only Torizo is harder to rip:
Draygon again.

- compare assembled versions with ingame Draygon
- have some animation refs for the backplate, merged with the body template
- sfx order
- complete example frames with all body parts
- 2nd half of the tail attack neccessary? duplicates?

What a pest to rip. At least Ridley is far easier:

Ridley has three heads, three legs, three wings (+ flipped variants), static arms / body and a tail which can be only ripped in parts.

The only difficult thing about him are the palettes, because there are a lot of them.

More Ridley (WIP)
- his body is actually animated, no palette swap animation but different tiles which are only loaded into the VRAM when they're seen on screen
- frame 2 in mode 7 also has a misplaced tile on the right wing, which is a copy from a left wing tile. The actually used tile is unique and never seen ingame
- one of Ridley's ingame hands is missing a tile which is present in the VRAM
- it also turned out that ZSNES is too slow to capture the wing animation, therefore I had to use Animget for this.

Everything on this sheet is from Ceres, the Norfair battle has a different VRAM with at least one additional foot and a front facing Ridley (turning frame).

Amazing! It's also wild how much of this still wasn't known. Looking good!

Organized everything. Now let's see what I can get from the Norfair battle.

Edit: Funny, the unused mode 7 Ridley uses a correct version of the right wing.

Everything is complete now, but it needs organization. Palettes were tough, I was thinking there was a 16th palette for the body appearing because the eye appearing has also 16. Then on the other hand, the pure black palette probably doesn't count, therefore it's 15 for each.

Amazing job! That dark blue palette is actually kind of awesome.

The palette for the Larva Container looks good too. I'm also pretty sure that you could use the red palette from the Zebesian Space Pirate and give Ridley his original artwork palette.

Anyway, Ridley has been submitted and I will take a rest for now. I have a couple of things to do and games to play =D

Trying to get all frames first before I take on the palettes.

Torizo is (mostly) complete and now I just have to rip this guy two more times, since he has variants with a busted stomach and a ripped off head.

And after that, palettes and SFX wait. Kinda weird, I imagined him harder to rip.
