help ripping models from persona q 2

i've ripped models from persona q, and i remember that, when doing so, i had to use a hex editor to take out a few lines of things before the rest of a model before i could actually view and export it with something like ohana3ds. persona q 2 has this problem too, a similar string of such and such that is before every model in its hex sequence, but when i try removing it in the same way i did for the pQ models, it doesnt work and ohana3ds doesn't recognize it. im pretty sure this is something specific to ATLUS game models? something in the private engines or whatnot that they use to encode things. i have no clue. if anyone knows anything, i would be eternally grateful for your help! more specific info and screenshots can be provided if necessary.
