Should tMR allow .gltf and .usd files?

3D Modelling
Blender will be dropping support for .dae files soon.

There's already a thread about allowing .blend files here https://www.vg-resource.com/thread-42797.html, but I want to suggest a couple more file types.

gltf is an open format by Kronos Group, just like .dae.

Universal Scene Description, or usd, is the new industry standard.

Both can be imported into blender, and many other animation softwares.

I should point out - most of the ripping tools I use (BrawlCrate, Switch Toolbox, etc.) don't support glTF. I believe some games already use glTF in their engine, but Collada will still have its place here in the ripping community.

Even when it is sunsetted in Blender, there is and will always be the option to just use an older version - pretty much all of my rips don't rely on cutting-edge Blender features or shaders.

Places to get help:
DYKG/VG Resource Discord - This is where most of the ripping experts on the VG Resource hang out these days, so you should probably start here. Any requests to rip stuff (i.e. "Please rip sounds/models/sprites from game X!") are only allowed here as per the rules.

ResHax forum - Another forum that is home to most of the reverse engineers who were on the old ZenHax and XenTax forums. A great place to get help for any mysterious files. I'm also there under the same username.

And remember, always upload example files. That way, people don't have to dig in and fetch them for you.

I opened a couple of issues on BrawlCrate requesting glTF and USD exports.
