Costumes (Will reopen later- NO NEW COSTUME IDEAS FOR NOW)
Could Lucarios alt. have something to do with Riley? Say for example, he wore his hat and Jacket?
Thanked by:
If anything it should probably be Aaron. Then again, there wasn't much a difference, I just like his hat/cape.

In memory of Sir Aaron, Lucario could have his cape and hat in honor of his master?
Could work, because I can imagine Lucario wearing it.

They have similar hats, and hair, but that's pretty much it.

He was in The Movie: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew.

If you think about it, Aaron's Lucario is the only one thats been able to communicate with people, and the Lucario in Brawl can also speak, so idk, bit of a connection there.

shouldn't his alt relate to something that's actually been in a Pokemon game?

The Pokémon in Smash bros have nothing to do with the Pokémon games (with the exception of Pokémon Trainer) - They're all form the movies / show. I really don't see the slightest problem with using movie related stuff for them.

The movies are an influence but that does not mean these are the anime characters we know.

Pikachu pops out of a Pokeball.

Like I said though, the only talking Lucario came from the movie. The ones in the show do not talk (unless I've missed it), and seeing as how the Brawl Lucario one does talk, one can easily assume they based Lucario off of the movie Lucario. Granted, the ability to speak is a slightly less direct reference that exact clothing, but I feel it's still enough to where we could let it slide.

I cant remember where I saw it, but theres this website that says that Lucario from Brawl was most likely based off Lucario and the mystery of Mew, since they both are the only ones we've ever seen that talk telepathically. And, they (as far as I'm aware) have the same moveset. So I see nothing wrong with having that as his costume

Agreeing with Arthur, the poke'mon are kinda based on popularity from the Anime/Movies. That's why we have Pikachu instead maybe...Geodude. Pikachu was put in because he was Ash's partner. They put in Jigglypuff because she appeared in some of the old episodes as a tag-along. Mewtwo came because of his movie debut, he could talk but only in the Jap. version of melee, we didn't see any mewtwo's in the Anime that could talk. Pichu got in because of Jap. release of the Pichu Bros. so they became popular instantly. Then Lucario got in do to his appearance in the movie and they gave him the ability of speech. Poke'mon trainer................They just put him in their, I don't know.
