Don't you think the name I gave his is better? And cute too
This Jet Pak (or Pack?) reminds me of those old Japanese live action, like Jaspion and Kamen Rider. Super suit looks weird Really nice job

The game actually calls it a Jet Pak. I would have thought to call it a Pack too, you're definitely not alone in that notion. xD

Maybe it was a character limit thing or just plain bad "engrish"

HEY AQUALUNG!
Nice job.

I look forward to more from this game. I always loved it, and it was one of the few I was actually good at...

Little Samson has tight animations going for it. The only problem I have with the game is that it features bosses that appear on black backgrounds with black outlines. T_T
Granted, MANY of said bosses have no actual outlines because they are those giant kind meant for black backgrounds. The final boss, on the other hand, HAS actual outlines, so I'll be arranging lots of tiles for a plethora of animations. T_T In the meantime, enjoy the magicians.

Ah, the dreaded black outline...

Phew... Two weeks ago I never thought ripping these guys would even be possible. But here they are, the remainder of the bosses from Little Samson for the NES. There is one secret boss I didn't rip, but technically he's a boss made out of a regular enemy, and while he has unique behavior, his sprites are just like the regular enemy he's based on. He'll end up in the regular enemy sheet, whenever I get around to that.
Also, turns out I made a small typo on my sheet of the Magicians. The main villain is Ta-Keed, not Tal-Keed. Oh well, not a big deal. And let me take this opprotunity to say HA! Take that Ta-Keed! I ripped your black outline, and now I know how to keep doing it! I was actually pleasantly surprised when I decided to beat this game on its harder mode, because in the first mode (I think Easy mode), the Golden Magician is the last boss. Not only do you get a nice, purplish last boss, but you also get a rematch with the monster versions of the main four magicians. Two at a time!

Whoa, the Cyclop, the dragon and tidal wyrm got lot's of details. Or something like that.
Nice rips Tom. Thanked by: TomGuycott

Thanks. As for why it's so detailed, I got an interesting tidbit from wikipedia about the game.
Apparently, Taito was trying to make a classic game series like Adventure Island and Megaman, etc, when they made the game very late in the NES lifespan. The game has a fun story (without dialouge OR text, no less), fun gameplay with four characters to switch between, and really tight animations. However, I suppose it just never caught on. I never even heard about it until about 5 to 7 years ago. It's a shame too, I would have loved sequels. =/

Very cool.

First thing's first. Ton, you missed the Knight in your last update. No biggie, just letting you know.
Two, I've been too tired to do any ripping this weekend, but I have savestates set up for ripping tons of content from several different games (mostly NES at the time). That being said, I can't decide what to do first... so why don't you guys help me out! Here's screenshots of all the main games I plan to rip from soon. 1. VICE is a pretty awesome Ninja Gaiden-like game for the NES that I remember seeing in an old Nintendo Power when I was a kid, but it wasn't until years later that I picked the thing up at a flea market when I was around 10 years old. It was around the stage in my life I could actually beat NES games without codes, and this was one of the easier ones to do so with infinite continues.. thank god. 2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 is my favorite of the NES Turtles games. What I plan to rip specifically is the bosses... some kid was already, but I PMed him when I first joined the forums, and he hasn't gotten back to me or been active at all, so... 3. Power Blade is another Nintendo Power relic I remember. I never beat it until recently, and it has some interesting bosses, although most have no outlines and are on black backgrounds. 4. Street Fighter 2010 is a game I rented as a kid and eventually bought cheap from a friend. Very difficult without cheats, lots of fun aliens though. 5. Dragon Spirit is probably the most obscure, and it probably has the worst graphics out of the bunch I have here. However, it is very nostalgic to me. 6. Totally Rad is the one of the Nintendo Power inspired rips I wanna do. The story in the game makes no sense, but the mini-boss and boss sprites are big and badass. So give me a hand, what should I rip next?

I'd go for VICE or Totally Rad, your descriptions were interesting and I love to get to know 'new' games. But I believe most people (Ton included) are going to ask for TMNT3, one of the all-times favorite :p

wtf street fighter 2010? XD
I vote for Totally Rad, the boss in this picture looks awesome |
