I'm starting tilesets now.

Fantastic news!

BSNES+ is as good as the others said then? For sprites it's amazing.

I'm using an editor called Map Jester:
https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/986/
You can easily screenshot lower & upper layer of the tilesets and then put them on a sheet.

And to remove the checkered background of the tilesets, I'm using Recolor by Previous (former TSR staff member):
https://www.vg-resource.com/thread-38101...#pid673077
You bascially make two squares which match in size, one is the colour you want and the other square hosts the colours from the checkered bg. You mark them with two boxes and press a button to swap the colours, so the two-coloured bg becomes pink.

Btw, deserts & snow field tilesets have also been submitted.

I know Map Jester, but god help me, it doesn't help at all for animated tiles.

I swear on my honour, I don't see them. Are they in plain sight and I'm being stupid?

When you select tiles within Map Jester, a 16x16 area gets darkened. I accidentally did that with some of the tilesets and therefore had to delete and re-rip everything.

Good thing is that it's kinda easy and fast to pump sheets out. I will concentrate on the cave/mountain structures first, I also overlooked some of the variants on my first try which will now be added.

Carthusian monk-like precision, I like.

That's great and they look lovely. No solution for animated tiles, however?

Loving the Glass Desert tile tbh.

Animations are either loaded into the tileset per ingame code or they're just palette swaps, which also happen per code.
Since this is just a simple editor, I don't think there is a solution beside an extra sheet for the tile animations.

I mean, that sounds like a good compromise. I'd be happy to do the extra sheet, if you don't want to. But I don't know how to see the animations in Map Jester, so this could be a bit long.

Submitted
Forest, Cliff & Jungle Tilesets
Sanctuary of Mana Tilesets

Pretty sure this needs to happen ingame. I can take care of it, most of it is water anyway.
Tilesets come first, though.
