3 milestones reached:
- all playable characters done
- all villages have a sheet on the site (exterior, interior or both)
- more than 180 sheets have been ripped for this game

What now? Enemies? NPCs? Fixes? Sprite animations? More maps?
Only a few days until September.

Edit:
Guess I'm going for festival maps / Npcs:

Peacock - January 01-14 - New Years
Fire Bear - February 01-06 - Bean Throwing
Crane - February 25-March 03 - Doll Festival
Peacock - April 01-12 - Flower Watching
Turtle - April 29-May 04 - Children's Day
Turtle - June 10-20 - Tortoise Festival
Canine - July 7 - Star Festival
Crane - August 7 - Star Festival (again)
Canine - September 03-15 - Moon-Watching
Crane - October 10-23 - Crane Watching
November has no festivals.
Fire Bear - December 23-25 - Santa Festival

Edit 2:
The game shows a black screen when I start it up, but quicksaves work fine.
In order to create a new game, put the English-patched ROM and the XML file in a separate folder.
Then it runs the usual routine, press buttons as asked and reset the game a few times.^

Edit 3:
While I was running through the game several times on my way to the festivals, I discovered more frames for Chitose (art gallery), the hermits (art gallery, okie-dokie grotto) and Tenjin (art gallery).
The festivals themselves also have new npcs and additional frames for existing npcs.^

Edit 4:
So Binta and Genkotsu CAN be petrified (tested with Kingin). Seems like I have to update their sheets at one point. Hisui's probably too.

Edit 5:
Done, I have now quicksaves for every single festival.

All festival maps done, I've also gathered enough for a third NPC sheet.
And after that, I'll do sheet updates. The festivals even had some unique frames for Higan.

That should have been it then. I don't think I'll have enough time to go any further with this project.

Nearly done with updates, now the animal sheet waits for me.

Also finally got the code for the Mortar Armor to work (thanks to Helder):
7E352C5E
If you put it in just like that, it turns inventory slot 1 into the music box.
But if you want the mortar armor, you need to place any other armor in slot 1.
We tested it with Leather Armor and Zephyr Robe and it works.

The mortar armor is one of the things needed to encounter Manto and easily the hardest item to obtain (imo).

Edit:
All items to encounter Manto in Crab-Crab Cavern (Dragon Kingdom)
Quote:    Chestnut Curio: Get from the Chestnuttery in Open Market (only on Sundays).
Shitty Shoes: Get from the Item shop in Splendid Village.
Crab Helmet: Get from the Crab Mini-Game in Turtle Shrine.
Bee Blade: Get from the Gold Medal Mini-Game in Flower Circle Town.
Mortar Armor: Get after participating in either New Year's Festival, Moon-Watching Festival or Flower Watching Festival.

Done and done, even added palettes for the menu portraits since I felt like it.

I don't see any more sheets which need updates, which means it's time for one final submission (Sprite Animations 1).

Progress.

Reason for pushing this around in front of me was the usual thing: I didn't know how to approach it.
Should I use the tile grid, the map grid or a custom one?

But since they're sprites and not part of the tileset, they can be freely placed everywhere. Therefore I'm going with what reduces the amount of space in a 16x16 grid.
Because often enough in tile viewer, the sprites are too chopped up to assemble, so I'm going with screen rips and give them custom grids.

Couldn't resist and ripped one more map (Threshold of the Heavens 4) because it looked like a quick rip to me.
Also updated NPCs 3 with the king of Jipang. His older brother could proabably go on one sheet with Ninigi, but I will resist and continue with the sheet above.

Edit: Added some more stuff.

Project is done, I even ripped two more maps to get to 200 sheets.

In conclusion, we got:

- all playable characters
- all bosses
- all villages and towns represented
- all boss rooms
- all possible NPCs minus the main antagonists & most monster pets
- 200 sheets in total

Nice :)

I learned a lot while working on Rudra, Lufia & TMZ with bsnes-rawpalettes, so I definitely want to try this knowledge on other SNES games too.
