concept for crappy's theme, done in famitracker
it'll probably sound very familiar to anyone who's followed my musical pursuits for the past couple of years

Maybe you could make it flash with you the lighter blue instead? I don't know if you've tried that.

i used this image of jotaro as a reference.

criticism heavily welcomed. it's been a long time since i've done anything on this scale.

I like how he's one of the handsome JoJo's as opposed to the creepy huge ones.

I can't really think of anything besides it being kinda off-centered (and that's an easy enough fix)
Also it seems kind of small in comparison to the other character portraits Blank but that's just me. You'll want to just cross-check that with Chris (it's probably fine?)

As I said on Tumblr, I think the portrait could use some more shading on the upper lip, and/or the pink shade you used for the lower lip

I think Will A. Zeppeli would be a perfect reference for your character!
First guy from the left.

Hope it helps! Smile

sorry, but i really disagree. tellis also suggested zeppeli. is it because he has a mustache? i picked jotaro because he's stoic, slender, and he has thick eyebrows and a hat with a visor on it. i appreciate your edit, but it doesn't help that much because i have no intent of using zeppeli as a base. i did see some stuff i could take from it, though.

i made it off-center because i was mainly looking at gors' original portraits and chris' for reference:

the size of the face is maybe around the size of chris' face, too. i especially used vipershark's portrait for shading reference.

That's a shame. I thought of Zeppeli because of the moustache, but also because he is a Hamon user, which I found tied in neatly with your water-based attacks. He's also pretty nimblet and sometimes wacky - which doesn't stop him from being tough and determined.

Anyway, in regards to how the current portrait compares to the others, I think the fact it's a profile portrait breaks the consistency. I also checked out CBL without a moustache and realised the proportions weren't right. So here's the edit and the Jotaro reference:
I'd go for a size closer to Viper's face and centering, it'll allow your portrait to be more visible in the character selection screen.

I hope it helps more! Smile

thanks! i honestly thought going for the profile view would be more interesting. is it okay if i take your drastic edit and make some changes and use it?

you can always keep both versions, one being an alternate portrait! and yeah sure you can Smile

i might do that! i'll try to touch up my original portrait later to be more in line with this one.

for now, i think i'm done. (unless anyone else has any critique, of course)

EDIT: just had an hour-long critique session with chris, and i think i'm REALLY done now. i'm very happy with this portrait!
